Zur Installation kopieren Sie bitte die gepackte Datei
PICCOLOR.EXE in das Verzeichnis, in dem Sie das
PICCOLOR-Verzeichnis installiert haben wollen, z. B.
ins "C:\Programme"-Verzeichnis.

Hier entpacken Sie die PICCOLOR.EXE Datei, indem Sie
sie einfach aufrufen, d. h. z. B. mit einem Doppelklick der
Maus anwaehlen. Das Archiv entpackt sich selbststaendig
und erzeugt dabei das PICCOLOR-Verzeichnis und alle
notwendigen Unterverzeichnisse, z. B. PICCHELP, in dem
alle HTML-Files des Hilfesystemes gelagert werden.

Falls Sie picCOLOR bereits entpackt auf einer CD-ROM erhalten
haben, genuegt es, das PICCOLOR-Verzeichnis mit den gewuenschten
Dateien und allen Unterverzeichnissen entsprechend in das
"C:\Programme"-Verzeichnis zu kopieren.

Danach koennen Sie PICCOLOR im PICCOLOR-Verzeichnis mit
dem Befehl PICC_NT.EXE starten.
Beim ersten Start werden Sie darum gebeten, eine
PICC_NT.CFG Konfigurationsdatei zu erstellen. Waehlen Sie
hier bitte die gewuenschte Anfangsbildspeichergroesse
ein und geben die den kompletten Pfad ein, in dem sich das
PICCOLOR-Programm befindet. Fuer das oben angegebene
Beispiel muessten Sie also "C:\Programme\PICCOLOR"
eingeben. Die Datei PICC_NT.CFG wird dann erstellt
und automatisch ins WINDOWS-Systemverzeichnis geschrieben,
wo sie dann beim naechsten Start von PICCOLOR gefunden wird.
(Unter WINDOWS NT4.0 oder W2K ist dies das WINNT-Verzeichnis
unter Windows XP heisst es WINDOWS.)

Es ist eine gute Idee, einen Link auf PICC_NT.EXE in das
START-Menue oder ein Icon auf den Desk-Top zu legen.
Dazu ziehen Sie das picCOLOR-Symbol aus dem Windows-Explorer
mit gedrueckter "Shift" und "Control" Taste auf den Desktop.

Zur Deinstallation des PICCOLOR-Programmes loeschen Sie
einfach das komplette PICCOLOR-Verzeichnis mit allen
darin befindlichen Dateien und Unterverzeichnissen.
Ausserdem loeschen Sie bitte die PICC_NT.CFG
Konfigurationsdatei im Windows-Systemverzeichnis.
Natuerlich koennen Sie diese Datei auch mit der
Windows-Suchfunktion (START->Suchen,Dateien/Ordner)
finden. Im Zweifelsfall kann diese Datei zwar kaum Schaden
anrichten, es kann jedoch zur Verwirrung fuehren, wenn Sie
spaeter picCOLOR in einem anderen Pfad neu installieren und
picCOLOR dann seine System-Files im alten Verzeichnis sucht.

Achtung: die vorliegende Version V4.0 des PICCOLOR-Programmes
ist ein weiterentwickelte Version des bekannen PICCOLOR 34
Bildanalyse-Programmes, das urspruenglich auf den Texas-
Instruments 32Bit-Graphikprozessoren entwickelt worden war.
Taeglich werden neue Funktionen implementiert. Bevor Sie also
mit wichtigen Arbeiten beginnen, stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie
die neueste Version installiert haben.

Das Handbuch wird beim Entpacken des picCOLOR-Programmes
automatisch in das PICCHELP-Verzeichnis geschrieben, wo es
beim Aufruf von picCOLOR aus automatisch gefunden wird, wenn
der Pfad im PICC_NT.CFG-File richtig angegeben ist. Weitere
Spezialhandbuecher, vor allem fuer die Zusatzmodule, koennen
im PostScript-Format per Internet heruntergeladen werden.
Einige dieser Spezialhandbuecher sind jedoch noch nicht in
der neuen picCOLOR-Version verfuegbar. Es kann hier zu kleinen
Unstimmigkeiten fuehren. Einige Handbuecher liegen in Deutsch
vor, einige in Englisch.

English Setup Instruction

To install the picCOLOR image analysis program
just copy the packed PICCOLOR.EXE file to that drive
and into that directory where the PICCOLOR directory
is going to be installed, for instance into the
"C:\Program Files" directory.

Unzip all archives by executing the self-extracting
archive PICCOLOR.EXE. This will produce a PICCOLOR
directory with all files and additional sub-directories.

In case you got the picCOLOR program on CD-ROM, it is
sufficient to copy the complete PICCOLOR directory with
all programs and additional files and all its sub-directories
into the requested folder, for instance the "C:\Program Files"
folder.

picCOLOR can then be started by starting the .EXE-File,
for instance PICC32_DEMO_B558SSE2.EXE. The name convention
defines here the 32-Bit demonstration version with build
number 558 in the SSE2 compilation. An MMX-version is
available, too.
At the first start of picCOLOR, you will be asked to
create a PICC_NT.CFG initialization file. This file
will automatically be copied into the WINDOWS system
directory. During creation of that file, the required
initial image buffer size and the exact and complete
path of the PICCOLOR directory must be given manually.
(example: C:\Program Files\PICCOLOR)

It is a good idea to set a link to PICC_NT.EXE on the
desktop or into the START-menu. This can be done by dragging
the picCOLOR program icon from the Windows Explorer on to
the desk top with pressed control and shift keys.

For deinstallation please delete the complete PICCOLOR
directory with all files and sub-directories. Also please
delete the PICC_NT.CFG configuration file in the Windows
system directory. If you cannot find this file, use the
Windows search function at START->Search,Files/Directories

The present version V4.0 of picCOLOR is an enhanced and
optimized version of the original PICCOLOR 34 program
that was designed for the Texas Instruments Graphics processors.
New functionality is added on an every day basis. Therefore
make sure to obtain the latest version of picCOLOR before
starting with your work.

Included in the PICCOLOR.EXE archive is the manual as
an Windows Help file. If configured correctly, picCOLOR will
search for this file in the PICCHELP directory. Other
manuals, especially for the extension modules of picCOLOR,
can be found on the internet in PostScript format.
Some manuals are still for the original PICCOLOR 34.
Therefore some handling issues may not apply directly
to picCOLOR V4.0.
